Football is a team sport, and only the best teams thrive in the National Football League.
Then again, every now and then, someone comes up and challenges that status quo.
Patrick Mahomes is that kind of player, and while he’s had his fair share of stellar teammates and a future Hall of Famer head coach, he’s single-handedly won games for them over and over and over.
Mahomes is the only player in the NFL league with that Tom Brady aura in the sense that no matter the score, the opponent, or the context, everybody on that football field knows he’s capable of getting the job done
That’s why NFL legend Michael Irvin isn’t surprised to see the Buffalo Bills getting knocked out in the Divisional Round.
“Mahomes is the best big time player,” Irvin said.

Talking on Undisputed, the Dallas Cowboys legend raved about how Mahomes always seems to rise to the occasion, calling him the ‘best big-time player.’
Irvin explained that Mahomes has done it in so many different ways now, remembering those explosive plays with Tyreek Hill and now being more methodical because of his supporting cast.
Truth be told, you can just feel when other teams are afraid of someone, and Mahomes instills the most fear in the league right now.
Mahomes has never had a bad game in the playoffs, not even in those three losses, and he’s the only player you could never, ever count out of a season, a game, or even a drive; it doesn’t matter how tough things get.
