The Green Bay Packers entered the 2023 season with many unknowns associated with them.
Fans wondered what the offense would look like in the first year under Jordan Love and if the team could return to their status as one of the best in the NFC.
The regular season was rocky, with Love going through lousy decision-making, interceptions, and a string of bad losses.
However, he and the team turned things around at the end of the year, making a run to the playoffs.
While they lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round, now that Love has performed this well, there seems to be an expectation that he will do this moving forward.
Craig Carton discussed this in a recent segment of his show, talking about what Love accomplished this season.
“Next year, anything less than that is unacceptable,” Carton said, indicating that the Packers need to keep this pace going in 2024.
“Jordan Love is still somewhat unproven. Now, the expectation is 9-8, made the postseason, won a road playoff game. Next year, anything less than that is unacceptable.”

Can the Packers find a way to replicate this success next year, if not overachieve what they accomplished this season?
This team has many moving pieces, including what their defense might look like in the new year.
Joe Barry’s role as defensive coordinator is still up in the air, which could majorly impact how the Packers perform in 2024.
They were mainly able to shut down the San Francisco 49ers in the playoffs, but as a whole, their defense underwhelmed expectations.
It will be interesting to see what this team looks like in the new year and if Love can continue to play better as the starter in Year 2.
