The Atlanta Falcons continue their pursuit of a new head coach.
Most oddsmakers and analysts still believe that Bill Belichick will end up getting the job, but they’re still doing their due diligence on other candidates.
Notably, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the team will undergo a second interview with Houston Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik, who’s also expected to interview in person with the Washington Commanders.
Josh Palmer adds that the Falcons were quite impressed with Slowik in their first interview, which is not much of a surprise to see him getting a second one.

Slowik was the architect behind one of the most impressive and underrated offenses in the game this season.
Led by C.J. Stroud, and despite a subpar offensive line and running game, the Texans’ offense was efficient and explosive at times.
The team didn’t have a lot of talent in the passing game, yet they continued to make the most of creative play design and play-calling to help the Ohio State product pick defenses apart week in and week out.
Slowik has become one of the most popular assistants around the league, and he’s heavily expected to become a head coach either in this hiring cycle or the next one.
As we mentioned, the Falcons are still expected to go with Bill Belichick if he’s also interested in the job, but with the Commanders looking for some fresh ideas to get back to contention, don’t be shocked if they wound up stealing him away from Texas.
