The Carolina Panthers are looking for yet another head coach after owner David Tepper fired Frank Reich after less than one season in charge.
The Panthers aren’t an enviable place to coach for that reason as well as the near-empty cupboard of roster talent and draft picks after the team traded up to draft Bryce Young with the No. 1 overall pick a year ago.
Someone will be hired to fill that role, though, and former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel appears to be the favorite to land the job, according to BetOnline.ag (via Jaime Eisner).

Vrabel helped orchestrate the revitalization of the Titans over the past six seasons from AFC bottom-feeder to perennial playoff contender before the team took a nosedive over past two years and failed to make the postseason.
It’s unclear if Vrabel is even interested in the role, though, because of what that job would entail both from a rebuilding perspective as well the relationship with Tepper.
However, the NFC South is one of the most winnable divisions in the NFL so it wouldn’t take much to go from the bottom to the top, so long as the right coach has the right personnel in place to make that ascension.
Young is the key piece in all of this, as he looked bad in 2023 but had glimpses of quality play before the Panthers finished with the worst record in the NFL.
Carolina won’t have the No. 1 pick after trading it to the Chicago Bears in the Young deal, so whomever takes over will have to get creative with roster construction.
