After two straight appearances in the AFC Championship, the Cincinnati Bengals have come back down to earth this season, as they have only managed to win one of the first four games on their 2023 schedule.
It seemed like things were getting back on track for the Bengals last week when they earned their first victory of the season by defeating the Los Angeles Rams, but then Cincinnati’s Week 4 matchup against the Tennessee Titans turned out to be a disaster.
Tennessee handed the Bengals an embarrassing 27-3 loss on Sunday, and Cincinnati lost more than just the battle on the scoreboard during the contest, as wide receiver Tee Higgins reportedly suffered a rib injury, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.

Injuries are a big part of the sport of football, but they seem to be having a significantly negative impact on the Bengals’ performance so far this season.
In addition to Higgins, Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow has been dealing with a calf injury that has been a bit of a problem since the team’s training camp.
Linebacker Joseph Ossai and tight end Irv Smith Jr. have also missed multiple games for the Bengals this season.
Still, one would think Cincinnati would be able to put up a better fight than what their performance was on Sunday against the Titans.
Heading into the 2023 season, many expected the Bengals to be among the AFC contenders once again, but it currently seems as though they’re going to struggle to even make the playoffs this year.
Cincinnati will attempt to get things back on track in Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals.
