Fans and analysts were torn on Lamar Jackson when he entered the league.
Many believed he would only turn out to be an athletic quarterback who relied more on his legs than his arm, likely having a short career in the NFL.
After winning league MVP in 2019, attitudes started shifting about his abilities to lead the Baltimore Ravens, but there was still something missing.
Jackson had only appeared in four playoff games before 2023, losing three.
While Jackson has played well in the regular season, there was a concern that he couldn’t get it done in the biggest games.
After seeing what the Ravens accomplished in the regular season this year, fans were cautiously optimistic that Jackson had bucked his trend of losing in the postseason.
They dismantled the Houston Texans in the divisional round and are one win away from a Super Bowl berth.
Nick Wright saw enough in this game to declare, “Lamar Jackson is now a Hall of Famer,” in a recent appearance on “First Things First.”

Wright first pointed to the fact that Jackson has already won an MVP and is likely to win it again this season.
The NFL honors have not officially been handed out, but with Jackson as such a heavy favorite, it seems inevitable.
While many other factors led to Wright’s declaration, one is that Jackson “was awesome in the second half” of the Texans game.
In Wright’s mind, Jackson is healthy and in the prime of his career, which lends itself to him playing his best football.
Will this result in a Hall of Fame career?
