During this time of year, a handful of teams in the NFL are still playing while the rest of the league is trying to figure out how to come back stronger next season, with some of those teams actively looking for new coaches and to fill out their coaching staff.
Along with head coaches being hired on a daily basis around the NFL, with Jim Harbaugh being the latest by becoming the new head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, there have been some surprising moves made by teams that no one saw coming.
On Wednesday, one of those surprising moves was the Miami Dolphins parting ways with defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, who was thought to be safe but apparently not.
With Fangio being one of the more desirable defensive coordinators on the open market, it’ll be interesting to see what teams show interest in his services, with Marcus Spears of ESPN thinking he’d be “a great match” with the Philadelphia Eagles.

After a 10-1 start to the 2023 NFL season, the defending NFC champion Eagles looked like they were flying high once again and a legitimate Super Bowl title contender in the conference once again.
Unfortunately, that’s when things started to fall apart, with a lot of the blame being pointed at the defensive side of the football, which resulted in a change being made during the regular season.
With head coach Nick Sirianni being retained after a disappointing end to the season, the team will focus on bringing in an upgrade to fill the defensive coordinator role, with Fangio being an intriguing candidate.
