The Atlanta Falcons shocked the NFL world by hiring Raheem Morris as their newest head coach.
Many believed that Bill Belichick was going to take on this role, especially considering all of the buzz surrounding him.
However, the organization is confident in Morris to lead their team for the foreseeable future.
After making this move, the Falcons announced another change, as Albert Breer reports.
It appears that Morris and the GM, Terry Fontenot, are now slated to report to Arthur Blank on anything regarding football operations.
The Falcons have officially announced they’ve hired Rams DC Raheem Morris as head coach. In the release, they also announced a change to their reporting structure—the HC and GM will now both report directly to owner Arthur Blank, rather than CEO Rich McKay. pic.twitter.com/edM4WokYAH

Blank seems to be taking a more hands-on approach to his ownership, seemingly wanting to be involved in more decisions.
The Falcons haven’t seen the on-field success that they might have hoped, which might be why Blank is taking a special interest this year.
The team has made significant investments in its roster over the past several seasons, mainly on skill-position players in the first round of the draft.
They have used first-round picks on offensive players in three straight years, but none of them have lived up to their potential.
With any luck, Morris will find a way to help them achieve their goals, and with Blank’s involvement, they might be able to get there.
Of course, the Falcons still need a quarterback, which remains their most pressing issue.
The Falcons could move up in the draft to select a quarterback, given that this class is slated to be one of the strongest in recent history.
If they make that move, and Morris performs as expected, this team could take a massive leap forward in 2024.
