Despite a shoulder ailment, Deebo Samuel is widely expected to play on Sunday for the San Francisco 49ers against the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship Game.
He missed much of the divisional round, and he is a key member of their offense that makes everything seem to go a lot smoother compared to when he has been out.
When Samuel was asked how he will protect his shoulder, via 95.7 The Game on Twitter, he said: “I ain’t protecting nothing.”

Samuel put up 892 yards during the regular season, and his versatility plays a large role in the 49ers being one of the NFL’s best offensive teams.
He scored not only seven receiving touchdowns but also five rushing touchdowns during the regular season, and he is one of the league’s few wide receivers who is adept at occasionally lining up as a running back and gaining yardage on the ground.
San Francisco was third in scoring and second in total yards during the regular season, but when Samuel missed two games in late October, they looked a lot different, as they scored just 17 points apiece in both games.
The Lions have an excellent run defense, so it’s very possible All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey will be held in check, forcing quarterback Brock Purdy to win the game through the air.
If that is what transpires on Sunday, Samuel could play a very key role in his fourth NFC title game appearance in his five pro seasons.
The Niners are looking to get to the Super Bowl for the second time in that span and win their sixth world championship and their first since the 1994 campaign.
