The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs haven’t been the same dominant team of old over the course of the 2023 NFL season, with Patrick Mahomes and company seemingly having lost their way on the offensive side of the football due to a lack of talent at the wide receiver position.
Despite the Chiefs clearly being a flawed football team this season, Kansas City was able to do enough to be in the AFC Championship Game once again, as they’ll take on NFL MVP favorite Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium.
As expected, the Chiefs will be underdogs in this AFC heavyweight showdown in Baltimore, with the Ravens looking like the better all-around team while currently playing like the best team in the league on both sides of the football.
Even though the Chiefs are the underdogs heading into Sunday’s matchup on the road, Nick Wright of FOX Sports believes Kansas City is built for this kind of challenge in the postseason, via “First Things First.”
“This is what the Chiefs have been building towards and what they’ve been built for,” Wright said.
We all know @getnickwright‘s picking the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. But he explains why:
“This is what the Chiefs have been building towards & what they’ve been built for. You must have a defense with answers if you run into one of the other superheroes that plays QB.” pic.twitter.com/cS3xPjmF5C

Even though Wright might be onto something when saying this team is built for situations like this, as Mahomes and company have proven their doubters wrong time and time again over the years, the Ravens could be that team that puts an end to this dynasty in Kansas City.
Jackson’s squad is as stacked as they come and have yet to face any team in the league that can really contend with them when the stakes are high, which makes this game intriguing, to say the least.
