Once the NFL playoffs got underway a couple of weeks ago, there were a lot of surprising moves made by teams around the league whose season had officially come to an end, as head coaches were getting fired left and right.
One of the most surprising moves of any team that was not playoff-bound was the Seattle Seahawks parting ways with longtime head coach Pete Carroll, with the team claiming he would assume another role with the organization and wouldn’t coach next season.
All signs pointed to Carroll continuing his coaching career in Seattle, with no hint of a move being made to change the course of his career or what the franchise intended to do with the coaching staff.
However, Carroll, even though he is as energetic as they come, is 72 years old and definitely getting up there in age, which means he can’t do this forever, and the team potentially felt it was time to get ahead of that.
Apparently, rap mogul Snoop Dogg was one of the first to reach out to Carroll after he had been relieved of his coaching duties in Seattle and got the sense that he’s not done coaching football and mentioned that he’d love for him to come back to the University of Southern California, via “The Pat McAfee Show.”
“I was the first person who called Pete Carroll after he got pushed out by the Seahawks..
He still has the coaching bug and he’s not done doing what he’s doing..
I’d love to see him go back to USC and restore order” ~ @SnoopDogg #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/FfrnJQVLe1

Even though he doesn’t look all that old, Carroll was the oldest head coach in the NFL before losing his job as the leader on the sideline for the Seahawks.
With Bill Belichick (71) still looking for work after parting ways with the New England Patriots, Andy Reid is currently the oldest head coach in the league at 65.
