The AFC title game between the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs will be played at M&T Bank Stadium in Maryland after the Ravens secured the No. 1 seed and home-field advantage weeks ago.
The outdoor venue poses a bit of a weather risk, as everyone saw during the wild card match with Kansas City in Buffalo, and it sounds as though Baltimore might endure some adverse conditions in the most critical game of the season for the two AFC opponents.
Fox Sports reporter Greg Auman photographed the sky at the stadium a few hours before the start of the game and noted that there is a chance of rain for the 3 p.m. start time, though the temperatures should be above freezing.

Rain shouldn’t deter either side from playing well, but precipitation typically favors the defense and the running game considering how slippery the ball could get throughout the match.
This could be a low-scoring affair despite a matchup between two high-flying offenses with two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson proved he is just as good of a passer as he is a runner this year and is the favorite to win his second MVP award, while Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes remains one of the league’s best gunslingers despite fewer trustworthy pass-catchers around him.
Both have experience playing in the rain as well, so a little precipitation shouldn’t stop this match from being one of the best of the 2023 season.
Everyone just needs to hope it just doesn’t turn to snow or freezing rain by the late afternoon.
