After the Atlanta Falcons lost to the division-rival New Orleans Saints in the team’s regular-season finale, the team’s brass wasted no time in making a decision on the immediate future for head coach Arthur Smith.
Smith was fired by the team shortly after the last game of the season for the Falcons, which indicated the decision was made long before the clock expired during the matchup against the Saints.
Since Smith was relieved of his coaching duties in Atlanta, the Falcons interviewed 14 candidates for their coaching vacancy and have officially moved forward with Raheem Morris, formerly of the Los Angeles Rams, as their new head coach.
With the Falcons moving forward, Smith has been left in limbo, especially with only two more head coaching vacancies left in the league. The Washington Commanders and Seattle Seahawks have yet to hire a new head coach.
In the meantime, Smith seems to be open to taking on a different role in the NFL, as he interviewed for the offensive coordinator job with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, according to the team’s Twitter account.
We have interviewed Arthur Smith for our offensive coordinator position.

The biggest problem for the Steelers during the 2023 campaign was on the offensive side of the football, as the team struggled to get anything going offensively, especially with a revolving door at the quarterback position.
Things went so badly offensively during the season that the Steelers parted ways with offensive coordinator Matt Canada, with the team desperately wanting to turn things around.
With the offense being the primary concern moving forward, they’ll have to find the right person to be the offensive coordinator, with Smith clearly in the running.
