The San Francisco 49ers are officially the NFC’s representative in the Super Bowl.
They were the No. 1 seed coming into the playoffs, and while it was a tough road, they have proved deserving of their seeding.
Now they are just one win away from a Super Bowl victory.
Ahead of this game, Christian McCaffrey made sure to let fans know who got them to this point, giving Brock Purdy high praise.
According to the NFL on ESPN, McCaffrey said, “Everything starts with him. We’re lucky he’s our quarterback.”

McCaffrey also said, “He takes a lot of heat for absolutely no reason, all he’s done has been a great leader.”
While Purdy has led this team to the Super Bowl, he often receives a lot of criticism from NFL media.
There have been times throughout the season when his youth has shown, making a few bad decisions that have led to unfortunate interceptions.
Despite these moments, and despite what people might say about him, Purdy has put his money where his mouth is.
McCaffrey believes in him, and it is clear that the rest of his teammates have trust in him to get the job done when it matters most.
Can Purdy pull out a win over the Kansas City Chiefs, a team with a lot of postseason experience over the past several years?
That remains to be seen.
It will be interesting to see what the narrative will be surrounding Purdy after the Super Bowl, especially if the 49ers end up losing this game.
