The “greatest of all time” debate between Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes is getting closer and closer after the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback advanced to his fourth Super Bowl in six seasons as the full-time starter.
Mahomes took down the No. 1-seeded Baltimore Ravens on Sunday and will now face the San Francisco 49ers – the team he beat to win his first Lombardi Trophy in 2019 – in Super Bowl LVIII.
So while Mahomes still has a long way to go until he reaches Tom Brady status, some have begun to call him the GOAT.
And on a recent trip to Australia, someone jokingly referred to a collection of goats as “the Mahomes exhibit,” which produced a chuckle from the seven-time champion, via the NFL on Twitter.

If Mahomes wins his third championship in six seasons, he’ll have the same amount of rings Brady did in his first six years with the New England Patriots.
However, Mahomes would still have four more titles to go before he would even tie Brady’s mark.
Mahomes still has a lot of his career left, though, and is very clearly on his way to becoming one of the best quarterbacks of all time.
He may reach Brady at some point, but for now, Mahomes’ status as the GOAT remains a work in progress.
