Andy Reid is headed to his fourth Super Bowl as head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs following the team’s beatdown of the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC championship game.
It’s Reid’s fourth Super Bowl appearance in five seasons and fifth in his 25 years as a head coach after he began his career with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Reid is clearly among the best head coaches in NFL history, and he drew the praise of an ascending college coach and former NFL star Deion Sanders.
“Andy Reid is the man!” Sanders wrote. “I love him as a man, a coach and a friend. He is ‘COACH-HIM’”

Sanders never played for Reid, but Sanders certainly watched him during his time as a player, as an analyst for NFL Network, and now as a head coach himself at Colorado.
Reid is the type of culture-creator that all head coaches aspire to become after he created winning franchises in Philadelphia and now Kansas City.
It helps, too, that Reid has a generational quarterback under center in Patrick Mahomes.
Even in a statistically down season, the Chiefs rattled off big wins in the playoffs over up-and-coming teams like the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, and Baltimore Ravens.
Reid now heads to Las Vegas to take on a team in the San Francisco 49ers who he beat five seasons ago for his first career Lombardi Trophy.
The match-up will be tougher this time around as the 49ers added key players like Christian McCaffrey, Brandon Aiyuk, and Brock Purdy, but the Chiefs have a much better defense this time around as well.
