Veteran infielder Justin Turner remains one of the most interesting free-agent targets for contending teams in MLB.
According to MLB insider Jon Morosi, he is inching closer to making a decision.
In fact, he said that a decision by Turner’s camp is “increasingly likely” to come this week.
MLB Network posted a tweet with a video of Morosi analyzing the landscape.

Morosi himself had tweeted, on Monday, that the decision is expected to come in the upcoming days and named some of the finalists for the veteran slugger, including the Giants, Mets, Blue Jays, and Cubs.

He compared Turner’s market to that of fellow bat-first player J.D. Martinez, in the sense that they are offense-first and not necessarily looking for a long-term commitment.
Those four teams would be happy to welcome a hitter of Turner’s caliber.
He has been one of the most consistent offensive producers in baseball over the last decade.
Year after year, he steadily supplies 20-homer power and a .300-average bat to the teams he has played for.
He is already 39 and injuries and decline could start to appear on the horizon, but at least judging by his 2023 performance with the Boston Red Sox, you wouldn’t know.
He played 146 games out of 162, which is magnificent for a player his age, and had a .800 OPS with 23 home runs, 86 runs scored, 31 doubles, and 96 RBI.
He just goes out there and produces, and he would represent a major improvement for all four lineups mentioned by Morosi.
