The Kansas City Chiefs are headed to Super Bowl LVIII, no thanks to wide receiver Kadarius Toney.
The young wide receiver missed another game, this time because of the birth of his child, though.
The team also claimed Toney was injured, something the wide receiver denied during an Instagram Live video Sunday afternoon where he accused the Chiefs of lying about his injury.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid commented on Toney, the injury, and his response Monday and said the injury wasn’t fabricated.
“He’s been on the injury report, so that part,” Reid said, per Arrowhead Report’s Jordan Foote. “… That’s not made up by any means. He’s been working through some things, and he’ll be back out there.”
Andy Reid said he hasn’t seen Kadarius Toney’s Instagram rant but has heard about it.

Toney’s time in Kansas City has been complicated – especially this year.
The Chiefs traded a third-round pick to the New York Giants for Toney in 2022, but the return on investment has been minimal.
He scored a touchdown in the Chiefs’ Super Bowl win a year ago but couldn’t play consistently in 2023.
Toney dropped passes, committed penalties, and missed games because of injuries.
His absence in the AFC title game appears to be legitimate because of his personal reasons, but the injury questions lead to a different issue entirely if Toney doesn’t think he’s hurt but the team does.
Toney very well may suit up for the Super Bowl in two weeks, but the Chiefs may not be happy with what he said on social media as it pertains to his health and how it’s been reported to the league.
