The Detroit Lions couldn’t keep up the pace with the San Francisco 49ers.
Several analysts and players were convinced of their ability to get the job done and pull off the upset, and it surely seemed like that was going to be the case.
Then, they took their foot off the gas and left the door wide open for the Niners to come back.
Nonetheless, that wasn’t surprising at all for Skip Bayless.
The controversial pundit spent the entire season taking shots at the Lions.
Then, talking on Undisputed, he pointed out the fact that it was just a matter of time before the Niners eventually caught up with them, just like it happened.
“I thought the Lions were fraudulent this whole time,” Bayless posted.
I thought the Lions were fraudulent this whole time. They have little to no playoff experience. They were self-destructing. https://t.co/t5XF3x2FXU

Bayless added that the Lions were ‘self-destructing all the time’ throughout the course of the game.
Truth be told, it’s hard to call a team that made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game ‘fraudulent.’
The Lions won 12 games overall and the NFC North Division title.
They averaged the fifth-most points per game in the league and had one of the most efficient and versatile offenses in the game.
The Lions have a plethora of talent on both sides of the field and an ever-improving team that would run through a brick wall for their head coach.
They were just one win away from making it to the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history; that’s far from a fraud.
