The New England Patriots’ decades-long dynasty will go down as one of the greatest stretches for any one team in the history of the NFL – and maybe in all of sports.
Quarterback Tom Brady led that charge as he won six Super Bowl rings during his career with the Patriots alongside head coach Bill Belichick.
One of the key phrases born from that dynasty was “The Patriot Way” – a term many used to describe a style of roster and culture management that helped the Patriots rise to the top of the NFL for so many years.
Brady doesn’t sound like a fan of that term, though, as he told ESPN’s Pat McAfee that the idea is more about how the team prepared than a manual for how to run a franchise.
“I’ve never used that term in my entire life,” Brady said on McAfee’s show. “I think when people say it, I’m always like, ‘What’s The Patriot Way? It sounds like the title of a book.’ I think what we tried to do was we tried to do things the right way. I think we tried to practice the right way and prepare the right way.”

Whatever the case may be, “The Patriot Way” worked to perfection for Brady’s entire career with the Patriots and helped him become the greatest quarterback of all time.
All good things must come to an end, though, and Brady left the team in 2020 to go win a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Belichick was recently let go from New England and remains without a job this offseason.
