At this time of the year, when the two teams for the Super Bowl are set and there are two weeks leading up to the big game, players who have been named to the Pro Bowl start to drop out due to injuries they’ve suffered during the regular season or throughout the playoffs, while others will be playing in the Super Bowl.
Over the years, a lot of big-name players have dropped out of the competition, as it seems that players seem to value going on vacation and spending time with their families rather than flying out to wherever the event is being held and having to deal with the media for a little while longer.
With superstar Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs heading to the Super Bowl for a second straight season, the NFL needed to replace him, and Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills was the ideal candidate, but he’ll be golfing at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, which paved the way for another AFC quarterback to get the nod.
According to ESPN’s Field Yates, that quarterback turned out to be Gardner Minshew of the Indianapolis Colts.

Here are some fan reactions to Minshew making the Pro Bowl:
We need to stop counting Pro Bowls as an accomplishment now

This stuff dilutes the “pro bowler” accolade.

After rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson went down with a season-ending injury early in the regular season, Minshew took over and proceeded to lead the team to a 9-8 record, which was impressive, to say the least.
Although the fans clearly don’t think Minshew was deserving of the honor, he did have a solid season and was the next in line.
