Ahead of the 2014 NFL Draft, one of the hottest names coming out of the college game was Johnny Manziel, with the consensus being that this brash and cocky kid out of Texas A&M could be the next big thing on the NFL level.
Although Manziel was considered a bit of a wild card because of his behavior off the gridiron, the Cleveland Browns decided to bring him in with the No. 22 overall pick in the draft that year, with the intention of making him their new franchise quarterback.
Unfortunately for Cleveland, the move to draft Manziel turned out to be a disaster, as his NFL career fizzled out pretty quickly, with the Browns releasing him in March of 2016.
Over the past few years, Manziel has made some attempts to make an NFL comeback, as he has tried his luck playing professionally in Canada in the CFL, and in the Alliance of American Football and Fan Controlled Football.
Eventually, Manziel decided to call it quits, and he seemed to lose his love for the game and couldn’t escape his past, which seemed to prevent any other NFL team from taking a chance on him.
In a recent photograph, Manziel was seen wearing a Miami Dolphins hat, which sparked some rumors of his return to the NFL, but he let it be known publicly on Twitter that he’s done with football and that he’s just showing support for Mike McDaniel and Tua Tagovailoa.
Absolutely not, my time for football has came and went. I just love Tua and Mike McDaniel so I’m always going to show support. Im a fan of people in the sport of football, not teams… https://t.co/N5O6T26Qph

Even though Manziel was at one point the talk of the football world as he was incredibly entertaining to watch during his time at Texas A&M, the Heisman Trophy winner has become more of a cautionary tale now, and he seems to be content with that fact finally.
Despite being a failure on the professional level, Manziel is considered one of the greatest college players of all time and became famous for his play on the field and for his antics off of it.
