When the regular season concluded, the New England Patriots decided to cut ties with Bill Belichick, ending his longtime tenure as head coach.
This immediately sent NFL media into a spiral, wondering where the legendary coach would end up, should he keep coaching.
There was speculation that he would be a good fit for the Atlanta Falcons opening, a role that has since been filled.
Belichick has been associated with success throughout his career, and while the past few seasons haven’t resembled that, he could likely bring immense value to an organization.
For some reason, however, Belichick still hasn’t been chosen for a head coaching role.
Based on what has happened with recent interviews, it doesn’t seem like he is going to get any of the other openings.
While this might be the case, Jerry Jones recently indicated that there could be a place for Belichick on the Dallas Cowboys in the future.
According to Jones via Jori Epstein and Pro Football Talk, “There’s no doubt in my mind we could work together. None. None.”

While Jones hints that he might be interested in partnering with Belichick in the future, it is unclear what capacity that would be in.
After being a head coach for over 20 years, conventional wisdom might tell you that Belichick wouldn’t settle for a role as a coordinator or an advisor.
If he returns to the NFL, it’ll likely be as a head coach.
Jones could be leaving the door open on purpose, that, if Mike McCarthy doesn’t perform well this season, Belichick could step in for the 2025 season, potentially trying to shake things up in a big way.
