Since the NFL trade deadline, the San Francisco 49ers were arguably the best team in the NFL as they rediscovered themselves on both sides of the field.
The 49ers went on a three-game skid that started with a blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens, but they rallied and now find themselves representing the NFC in Super Bowl LVIII.
After falling behind the Detroit Lions, San Francisco made timely plays and was able to make a thrilling comeback that had the fanbase fired up.
Brock Purdy has proven his doubters wrong during the playoffs as he’s led the team to back-to-back come-from-behind wins.
Purdy may not generate the same kind of buzz as other star quarterbacks, but he’s shown he belongs on the NFL’s brightest stage.
Meanwhile, his backup Sam Darnold will become the only first-round quarterback from the 2018 NFL Draft to appear in the Super Bowl via Bleacher Report.
“Sam Darnold is only 1st-round QB from 2018 class to make Super Bowl,” Bleacher Report tweeted.

Baker Mayfield went No. 1 overall and has largely been adequate, leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the NFC Divisional Round.
Meanwhile, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills have made the postseason several times but always come up short against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Like Allen, Lamar Jackson has also been unable to get over the hump with the Baltimore Ravens while Josh Rosen flamed out in just a few years in the league.
Darnold likely won’t see the field in Super Bowl LVIII, but he at least has some sort of bragging rights among his peers.
