The table is set: the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will square off again for a rematch in the most crucial game of the season.
The reigning Super Bowl champions will look to become the first back-to-back champions since the 2004-05 New England Patriots and the Niners will look to get back from that heartbreaking loss four years ago.
Needless to say, both teams have plenty of talent on their roster, so it’s not exactly a surprise to see them squaring off at this stage.
With that in mind, NFL analyst Craig Carton took to his show to list the ten best players in the game.
Notably, he seemed to give the Niners a big edge over the AFC Champions, as the list goes as follows (10-1):

K Harrison Butker (KC), LB Fred Warner (SF), DE Nick Bosa (SF), TE George Kittle (SF), OT Trent Williams (SF), WR/RB Deebo Samuel (SF), RB Christian McCaffrey (SF), QB Brock Purdy (SF), and QB Patrick Mahomes (KC).
Of course, it’s surprising to see that he didn’t include TE Travis Kelce or DT Chris Jones in this list.
Also, with all due respect, having Purdy ahead of, say, McCaffrey was also slightly controversial.
Then again, everybody’s entitled to their opinion; to each their own.
It’s also worth saying that this is a quarterback’s league now more than ever, and sometimes, all it takes is to have the best quarterback on the field to get the job done.
So, even if the Niners seem to have more talent, they might not be able to overcome the most talented player in the game.
