The San Francisco 49ers made it back to the big game.
That’s not much of a surprise, considering they have the most talent of any team in the league.
It’s been four years since they made it to the Super Bowl, and they’ve gotten significantly better at most positions, quarterback included.
Nonetheless, Brock Purdy still doesn’t get enough credit for what he does.
That doesn’t make any sense for NFL legend Tony Dungy.
Talking on Good Morning Football, the legendary coach talked about how Purdy is the epitome of someone who doesn’t do anything extraordinary but does all the ordinary things better than everybody else.
“He’s just been awesome and I don’t think he gets enough credit,” Dungy said.

He compared him to the scrappy point guard who guards the other team’s best players, has 14 assists, doesn’t turn the ball over, and then hits a dagger to win the game.
And while his stats might not be the most impressive, he’s the kind of player who rarely makes mistakes and does all the little things to make sure his team wins.
That’s a fair assessment right there.
Purdy isn’t the kind of guy who will knock people off their seats with his athleticism or post video game-like numbers, but he doesn’t need to be that guy either.
Some call him a game manager, but he’s shown that he can also take the reins of the team and orchestrate big drives when needed.
Like him or not, he’s taken them to the last game of the season, and that’s way more than most quarterbacks in the league can say.
