Former NFL and Dallas Cowboys star Tony Romo keeps winning off the field.
Besides his highly successful run as an analyst during the NFL season, the former quarterback is also about to get one of the most prestigious honors he could ever aspire for.
According to a report by Business Wire, Romo will receive the 2024 Pat Summerall Award during this year’s Legends for Charity event.
Per the report, the ceremony will take place on Thursday, February 8, at Caesars Palace, the NFL headquarters hotel.
Hundreds of sports-related personalities, such as athletes, broadcasters, and even executives, will get together to honor Summerall’s legacy, all for the benefit of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The former Cowboys quarterback will be honored for his successful career in the league and for what he’s done ever since he joined CBS Sports as a broadcaster.
Romo has been CBS Sports’ lead NFL analyst for The NFL on CBS for the past seven seasons already, all following a long career in the National Football League.
Notably, this prestigious event has raised over $11 million in 19 years since its first edition.
That has helped them go on with their mission of making sure St. Jude’s families won’t have to pay bills from the hospital, whether it’s for travel, housing, food, or treatment.
Among the past honorees, we find former legends of the game and the broadcast scene, such as Tony Dungy, Al Michaels, John Madden, Archie Manning, Rich Eisen, Erin Andrews, Joe Buck, and Jim Nantz, among many others.
