The Dallas Cowboys appear to be running it back in 2024 with the same roster and the same coaching staff a year after they were bounced from the NFC playoffs in a dismal display in the wild card round.
Quarterback Dak Prescott and head coach Mike McCarthy will return, albeit with perhaps less slack than in years past because of built-up expectations over the recent years.
But after the family members of Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and defensive end Micah Parson appeared to criticize Prescott, ESPN’s Mike Greenberg suggested that the Dallas quarterback should think about requesting a trade before the 2024 season.
“If I’m Dak Prescott I am genuinely thinking, ‘I need to get up out of here,’” Greenberg said. “Not next year, but now. … We have seen many NBA players and a handful of NFL players force their way out of situations they didn’t want to be in. And if I’m Dak and I have problems with my star on offense and my star on defense and the owner is saying stuff about me … I’d do it.”

Prescott has played well during his time with the Cowboys but hasn’t been able to get them over the hump since he became the starter in 2016.
He will also need a new contract after the 2024 season, which could be tough for the Cowboys to swing with mega extensions needed to pay Lamb and Parsons as well.
At some point, the Cowboys will have to choose between Prescott, Lamb and Parsons, and Greenberg believes Prescott should make that decision himself before Dallas decides to dump him to a team he doesn’t want to play for.
