The next era of New England Patriots football is here as Jerod Mayo replaces Bill Belichick as the franchise’s next head coach.
Aside from Mayo, the rest of the coaching staff was revamped and the roster will soon undergo it’s changes as well.
The 2024 NFL Draft is a big one for the Patriots as they could set the foundation of their roster for the coming years with the right picks.
With the No. 3 overall pick, New England would be wise to consider the quarterback positon after what happened in the 2023 NFL season.
Both Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe floundered in their starts, and the Patriots know they need to address the spot.
Phil Perry believes that New England should go after the Chicago Bears’ Justin Fields via NBC.
“He’s a great athlete with a real live arm, and if you feel like there’s something there, he is trending in the right direction,” Perry said.

Armed with the No. 1 overall pick, the Bears could reset the quarterback position by trading Fields and grabbing either Caleb Williams or Drake Maye.
Chicago hasn’t tipped their hand whether or not they’re keeping fields, but a team like New England should explore the possibility.
Fields has been up and down during his young career, but he’s shown enough flashes and upside over the past two seasons to make him a worthwhile gamble for a rebuilding team.
Like the Bears, the Patriots could go in a number of directions between now and the draft and all eyes will be on how they decide to handle their respective quarterbacks.
