At one point in time, Tennessee Titans star running back Derrick Henry was considered to be the best player in the league at his position and virtually unstoppable once he got going on the gridiron.
After eight seasons in the NFL with the Titans, it appears his time in Tennessee has come to an end, as he will be heading into NFL free agency this offseason and seems to be looking for greener pastures.
All signs point to Henry leaving the Titans, which could make him a hot commodity on the open market, even though star running backs have been devalued over the last couple of years.
With Henry more than likely on the move during the offseason, Marcus Spears of ESPN believes the veteran back should sign with the Dallas Cowboys, via NFL on ESPN.
“I said it during the season, and I’m going to continue to say it: Derrick Henry should be a top priority for the Dallas Cowboys if they’re trying to go all-in and have an opportunity to win a championship,” Spears said.

Even though Henry isn’t the dominant force he once was with the Titans earlier in his career, he might be a perfect fit for the Cowboys to potentially share touches with Tony Pollard in Dallas.
In 17 games with the Titans during the 2023 campaign, Henry rushed for 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns while also catching 28 passes for 214 receiving yards.
Signing Henry would be a giant leap in the right direction for the Cowboys, making their already potent offense that much more intimidating next season.
