Once again, the Buffalo Bills finished the season with heartbreak.
They were so close to taking down the Kansas City Chiefs, yet their game-tying field goal went far right and put an end to their campaign.
Notably, that means it’s officially time to speculate about Stefon Diggs’ future with the team again.
Diggs began the season stealing all of the headlines for the wrong reasons, reportedly storming out of the team’s facilities and calling the organization out.
Then, he became a non-factor in the second half of the season, taking a major backseat without Ken Dorsey calling the plays on offense and blaming double teams for his lack of production.
Still, despite his dip in production and his well-documented character issues, team legend Andre Reed still believes the team needs him to get over the hump.
Talking to TMZ Sports, the former wide receiver claimed that Diggs could agree to take a pay cut to stay with the organization for years to come:
“If anything, they’ll ask him to do that to save cap space to bring some more guys in,” Reed said. “Whether Stefon does that or not, I think he realizes where he is and what kind of team he’s on. And, I can see him staying there.”

Reed thinks the team needs to bring in more guys.
They’re in a tough spot, salary-cap-wise, and Josh Allen’s cap hit will only get bigger next season.
He doesn’t know whether Diggs will end up taking a pay cut to give his team a hand, but he’s confident that could happen.
If not, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see Brandon Beane looking to move on from him in the offseason to try and put together more depth around Allen and Joe Brady’s new-look offense.
