It doesn’t seem like Chase Claypool is going to be a member of the Chicago Bears for much longer after the young wide receiver was a healthy scratch by the team before their Week 4 loss to the Denver Broncos this past Sunday.
The Bears haven’t provided much information about why they decided to keep Claypool inactive on Sunday, but multiple reports have recently revealed that Chicago is hoping to trade the receiver sooner rather than later.
According to an NFC East scout who spoke with FanBuzz’s Matt Lombardo on Monday, the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, and Detroit Lions could be among the teams interested in making a trade for Claypool.

Chicago originally acquired Claypool last season from the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
It’s looking like the Bears paid entirely too much to land Claypool, and as they attempt to move on from him, it’s highly unlikely that they will be able to find a team that is willing to send them a second-round draft selection in order to acquire the young receiver.
Claypool entered the NFL back in 2020 when the Steelers used a second-round pick in that year’s draft to select him, and he went on to have an impressive rookie season in which he caught 62 passes for 873 yards and nine touchdowns.
Since 2020, however, Claypool hasn’t been able to recapture the same magic that he displayed out on the field as a rookie.
With Chicago this season, he’s only managed to accumulate four catches for 51 yards and one touchdown in three appearances.
Whether he’s traded or released, Claypool’s tenure with the Bears has likely already ended.
