The Las Vegas Raiders were just dealt a big blow.
According to a report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, former head coach Kliff Kingsbury has officially withdrawn himself from consideration for their offensive coordinator job.
Kingsbury was supposed to become Antonio Pierce’s next big hire, yet that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore, per his agent Erik Burkhardt.

The 44-year-old was one of four candidates who had interviewed for the job.
Alex Van Pelt, who was recently fired by the Cleveland Browns, has already agreed to be the New England Patriots’ offensive coordinator, so that leaves Mike Sullivan and Luke Getsy as the only candidates still potentially in the running.
Kingsbury had worked with Patrick Mahomes as his head coach at Texas Tech before taking the leap to the pros.
He drafted, coached, and developed Kyler Murray as head coach of the Arizona Cardinals before being fired last season.
Then, he worked with USC star QB Caleb Williams, the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner, serving as their QB coach and senior offensive analyst.
Kingsbury is quite young and should get more opportunities to become an offensive coordinator or head coach in the league in the foreseeable future, even though his stint in Arizona wasn’t that successful.
The Raiders, on the other hand, will continue to look to build from that momentum they gained late in the season under Antonio Pierce.
