Patrick Mahomes has only been the starting quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs for the last six seasons.
But during these six seasons, Mahomes had helped lead the Chiefs to a pair of Super Bowl wins and six-straight appearances in the AFC Championship.
On a personal level, the 28-year-old quarterback has also won the NFL’s MVP award twice, earned two First-Team All-Pro selections, and been voted to a Pro Bowl roster six times during his six seasons as a starter in Kansas City.
Given the impressive amount of success Mahomes and the Chiefs have been able to achieve in the last six years, some have already been labeling him as the greatest quarterback in league history.
Unsurprisingly, not everyone agrees with this opinion, and believe it or not, Mahomes’ own father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., is among the group that believes his son still has some work left to do before he can truly be considered the greatest quarterback in NFL history (via theScore on Twitter).
“That’s still to be determined. He still has a ways to go. I have mad respect for Tom Brady and I grew up as a Joe Montana fan. [Patrick] is on the right trajectory, but right now, I would still say those guys are better.”

Mahomes Sr. is a former pro athlete himself, so he knows what it truly takes for someone to achieve greatness in a gigantic league with such an illustrious amount of history like the NFL.
As a father, he also doesn’t want his son to lose focus and get too overconfident in himself despite all of the success he’s already been able to achieve since Kansas City made him their starting quarterback.
Mahomes and the Chiefs will attempt to add to their success together when they take on the San Francisco 49ers next Sunday in Super Bowl LVIII.
