The New York Jets, armed with a new quarterback, entered the 2023 season with high hopes.
Aaron Rodgers was their chance to make it to the promised land, securing a playoff spot for the first time in more than a decade.
However, his Achilles injury seemed to push that dream out for another year, as he is seemingly out for the season.
Despite Rodgers’ injury, some analysts, including Craig Carton, still see a path to the postseason for the Jets.
“The New York Jets are going to make the playoffs as a Wild Card team,” Carton said.

He prefaced this statement with a caveat, knowing he “would take a lot of heat for this,” but stuck by his prediction.
While the Jets hung with the Kansas City Chiefs during their Sunday Night Football battle, they still ended the game with a loss.
Coming back from a 1-3 record to make the playoffs has proved nearly impossible if NFL precedent has anything to say about it.
The Jets’ next three games are against the Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants.
To have a shot at the postseason, the Jets would likely need to win at least two of these games if not all three.
The Eagles are currently 4-0, giving the Jets an outside chance of winning that game.
However, the Broncos and Giants have struggled early, giving the Jets a potential window to capitalize.
Will Carton’s bold prediction come to fruition for the Jets, effectively ending their 12-year playoff drought?
