The Cincinnati Bengals are 1-3, a surprising record through four games given their preseason hype.
This team has made it to back-to-back AFC Championships.
With Joe Burrow officially tied to the team for the foreseeable future, fans expected a much different outcome for the start of the season.
Burrow’s offensive output isn’t reflective of what he has done in years past, frustrating some of his teammates.
Ja’Marr Chase has recently commented on their offense, indicating that he is “always open.”
Head coach Zac Taylor responded to these comments in a press conference, saying, “I love the clip, just shows the confidence that he is.”

Through four games, Chase has totaled 29 receptions, and 284 yards, and has yet to record a touchdown.
Last year, the Chase-Burrow combination was one of the most lethal duos in the league, as Chase ended the year with 87 receptions, 1,046 yards, and nine touchdowns.
This isn’t to say that these two cannot recapture what they found last season, but they have encountered growing pains to start this year.
With any luck, Burrow and Chase will get back on track soon, resulting in less turmoil and public outcry from Chase.
Taylor does not seem worried about the current state of their offense and is only encouraged by Chase’s comments.
At 1-3, the Bengals will quickly need to turn things around if they want to make a postseason push.
This begins with Chase and Burrow, the two cornerstones of this previously potent offense.
If they’re able to find themselves, there’s no telling what this team is capable of.
