Every now and then, an athlete shows up to take the league by storm and dominate like no other before, whether it’s in the NBA, NFL, or any sport.
As of now, it seems like we’re officially in the Patrick Mahomes era, as he’s been the guy to beat in the league since becoming a starter, leading his team to four Super Bowls in six seasons.
More than that, Mahomes has made sure to lead by example, with every single guy on his team knowing that he’s putting himself through hell to be the best player he can possibly be, so there’s no other choice but to try and match that level of intensity and preparation.
With that in mind, Mike Greenberg of ESPN said on Get Up that Mahomes reminds him a lot of Michael Jordan in that aspect.
“No. 15 reminds me a lot of No. 23,” Greenberg said.

Jordan was never going to ask anything of his teammates that he wasn’t willing to do himself.
And, while his leadership style obviously wasn’t anything similar to Mahomes, they were both incredibly meticulous and thorough with their craft, and their unmatched work ethic forced their teammates to elevate their games as well.
Jordan went down as the most dominant player in NBA history, someone who instilled fear in the opponents’ heart.
Mahomes is just getting started, but he’s also forced other teams to change the way they play, think, and approach the game when he’s on the other side of the field.
