The Kansas City Chiefs cannot afford any distractions right now as they get ready for another Super Bowl.
However, Patrick Mahomes might be dealing with a lot right now.
His father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., could face up to 10 years behind bars after getting arrested for his third DWI during a routine traffic stop in Texas.
The former MLB player admitted to ‘having a few beers’ and reportedly had an open 16-ounce can of beer while driving, according to a report by TMZ Sports.
Unsurprisingly, the Chiefs’ quarterback was asked about his father’s situation multiple times during the Super Bowl media day, to which he simply replied that it was a family matter and didn’t want to get into too much detail.
“I don’t really want to get into it too much, but he’s doing good for whatever the situation is,” he said.

Mahomes Sr. will still be allowed to travel to Las Vegas to watch his son in the Super Bowl, as he didn’t get a travel ban as a part of his bond arrangement.
Nonetheless, whether he’ll be in attendance or not remains to be seen.
Mahomes has stayed out of trouble during his entire career, yet he’s had to deal with countless family matters.
From his wife getting in trouble on social media and rubbing opposing fans the wrong way to his brother also facing legal issues, and now this situation with his father, the Mahomes bunch has drawn a bit of a bad rap over the years.
Hopefully, he’ll manage to stay locked in and at his best during the biggest game of the season.
