During the 2023 NFL regular season, the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs did not look like the same team that dominated the competition last season and beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the big game.
The Chiefs seemed like a flawed football team for the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era, as the offense couldn’t get it going from week to week the way it used to.
Obviously, this was a cause for concern for the Chiefs, as many started to believe this potential dynasty might be over, with Kansas City about to take a backseat to the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC.
However, the masses spoke too soon when regarding the immediate future of the Chiefs, as Kansas City has played well in the NFL playoffs and now has a chance to win back-to-back titles if they can get by the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday.
Ahead of the Super Bowl at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, superstar tight end Travis Kelce talked about the team’s expectations and how the team is locked in ahead of the clash with the 49ers, via The Athletic.
“That expectation has become a demand at this point…We’re here to win this thing, baby,” Kelce said.

Although the Chiefs have beaten the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, and Ravens in three consecutive games during the postseason thus far, Kelce and company will head into the Super Bowl as underdogs against San Francisco.
Even though the 49ers are the favorites, the team has been shaky at best during the playoffs, barely getting the best of the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions in consecutive weeks, which makes for an interesting matchup with the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
