Legendary head coach Andy Reid has done it again, as he’s been able to figure out a way to navigate a less-than-stellar regular season and reach the Super Bowl for a second straight year with a chance to win his third Vince Lombardi Trophy.
With Pete Carroll accepting a different role with the Seattle Seahawks and Bill Belichick getting fired as head coach of the New England Patriots after 24 years, Reid has officially become the oldest head coach in the NFL at 65 years old.
With Reid now the oldest coach in the league, many have wondered what the immediate future might hold for the veteran head coach, with retirement being a viable option, as he has proven so much during his time in the NFL.
In fact, a rumor has circulated around the league that Reid might step down once the season is officially over for the Chiefs.
As expected, Reid has been asked by reporters whether the end of his coaching career is drawing near and it appears he’s ready to keep it going, via Around The NFL.
“You’re going to know when it’s time. Today’s not the day,” Reid said.

It’s not all that surprising that Reid would want to keep coaching considering his situation in Kansas City, as he has arguably the best quarterback in the league under center and a team that can clearly still compete for a title on an annual basis.
It might be safe to assume that Reid’s future is tied to Patrick Mahomes’ moving forward.
