One thing that is guaranteed to happen each NFL season is injuries.
It is an unfortunate part of the game, but the physicality of the sport makes injuries a certainty.
One player who retired after the 2022 season was J.J. Watt.
But, he still considered the idea of returning to the NFL during last season.
Watt recently went on “The Pat McAfee Show” and discussed the two teams he monitored for a potential comeback.
They were the Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans.
Watt said: “I definitely was monitoring the Texans and Steelers’ situations this year but nothing ever escalated.”

Those two teams would have made sense for Watt.
The Steelers because he could team up with his brother, T.J., and the Texans because that is where he spent the majority of his NFL career.
Unfortunately, neither worked out and now Watt has said he is “1000% done.”
Now that Watt is officially done we can look back on his incredible career.
He played 12 seasons, 10 with the Texans and his final two with the Arizona Cardinals.
He recorded 114.5 career sacks and won three Defensive Player of the Year awards.
Watt battled numerous injuries during his career, and they caused him to miss plenty of time.
Still, he put together one of the most impressive careers of the past decade.
Watt’s Hall of Fame clock started after the 2022 season and he will be eligible for the Hall in 2027 as part of the 2028 class.
It seems like all but a guarantee that the former first-round pick will find his way into Canton.
