The Tampa Bay Rays will play their AL Wild Card series at home, at Tropicana Field, against the Texas Rangers.
Randy Arozarena will be one of their most prominent players, and he usually catches fire in the postseason.
He is about to receive some extra motivation in the form of a visit.
“#Rays Arozarena said his mom will be here from Mexico and see him play for the first time as a major leaguer. She also will throw out the first pitch that he will catch. She moved from Cuba to Mexico in 2017,” Rays insider Marc Topkin tweeted.

Arozarena has played in MLB since 2019, and was a prospect before that.
His mother Sandra hasn’t had the chance to watch his son play in MLB yet, but that’s about to change.
Not only she will finally enjoy a game of her son in the majors, but she is also expected to take part in the pre-game events, throwing the ceremonial first pitch to Arozarena.
It will surely be one of the most wholesome moments of the postseason, and it will take place on Tuesday afternoon as the Rays take on the Rangers.
Tampa opens the best-of-three series as the favorite by virtue of finishing the regular season with a 99-63 record.
The Rangers were 90-72, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t capable of pulling off the upset.
It will be a thrilling series with little to no room for error.
Arozarena, who hit 23 home runs and stole 22 bases with a .789 OPS, is one of the most important players on the Rays side.
