The Kansas City Chiefs are just one more win away from establishing themselves as a legitimate dynasty.
The Chiefs will play the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, a monumental event because it’s the first Super Bowl to be played in Sin City.
Kansas City may have had ups and downs during the 2023 NFL season, but they’ve shown that they can raise their game to another level once the playoffs roll around.
Under head coach Andy Reid and behind Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs were able to run through the AFC and now have a chance to win their third ring in five years.
The offense has taken a bit of hit this year, though that hasn’t stopped Kansas City from winning games.
Fortunately, some help could be on the way as the team is planning to activate running back Jerick McKinnon ahead of Super Bowl LVIII, via Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
“The #Chiefs are activating RB Jerick McKinnon from Injured Reserve to the 53-man roster for the Super Bowl. He’s still questionable and will be a game-time decision,” Rapoport reported.

McKinnon has been sidelined since Week 16 with a groin injury, but finally got a week’s worth of limited practice in.
Although the veteran will be eligible to return, it’s no guarantee he’ll play given the tricky nature of groin injuries.
However, if he does suit up he would be a welcomed addition to the pass game as Mahomes has had to rely heavily on Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice to move the ball through the air.
