A few weeks ago, the New Orleans Saints made the decision to part with longtime offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael.
Carmichael had been the Saints’ offensive coordinator since the 2009 season, but the team clearly felt a change needed to be made this year.
In his place, New Orleans will reportedly hire Klint Kubiak to be the team’s new offensive coordinator, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Twitter.
49ers passing game specialist Klint Kubiak is expected to become the Saints’ offensive coordinator after Super Bowl LVIII. This will be his final game for the 49ers, and he watched his father Gary also be a part of the 49ers last Super Bowl win, when Gary Kubiak was the 49ers’…

Kubiak is currently the passing game specialist for the San Francisco 49ers, and their game against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday is expected to be his last with the team.
Prior to joining the 49ers this season, Kubiak has had multiple stints around the NFL as an assistant coach.
He began his coaching career in the league in 2013 as an offensive quality control coach for the Minnesota Vikings.
After leaving the NFL in 2015 to be the wide receivers coach at the University of Kansas, Kubiak returned to the league in 2016 as an offensive assistant for the Denver Broncos.
He wound up remaining with the Broncos for three years before returning to the Vikings in 2019 to be the team’s quarterbacks coach.
Then, in 2021, Minnesota decided to promote Kubiak and make him their new offensive coordinator.
He didn’t do a terrible job, but the Vikings fired head coach Mike Zimmer during the 2022 offseason, and most of his staff, including Kubiak, was let go as well.
After another short stint in Denver in 2022, Kubiak landed with the 49ers in 2023, and now he’ll get another shot to run an entire offense when he joins the Saints after Sunday’s game.
