The San Francisco 49ers have some soul-searching to do right now.
The fact that some of their players didn’t even know the overtime rules in the Super Bowl hasn’t been a good look for the organization.
Now, things could get even more complicated.
Recently, Brandon Aiyuk’s girlfriend claimed that last season may have been the last time Aiyuk ever played at home at Levi’s Stadium because they might not be there next season.
On top of that, the wide receiver posted a cryptic message on Instagram which read “Don’t forget what you got there,” as shared by Dov Kleiman.

Aiyuk is about to enter the fifth-year option of his contract, and he’s not a free agent, so it’s not like he’s in full control of his destiny right now.
Then again, he could request a trade or try and force his way out of San Francisco.
The four-year pro only had three catches in the Super Bowl for forty-nine yards.
That’s not much of a surprise, as he’s not first in the pecking order because of his All-Pro teammates.
Perhaps he still thinks he should have a bigger role in the offense, but he has to earn his stripes first.
There would definitely be a strong market for Aiyuk, should he become available.
