The NFL has proven to the the king of all United States-based sports over the last 20 years when it comes to viewership.
Other sports have been on the rise at certain points, but nobody has come close to touching the NFL’s global reach and overall revenue.
Because of this success, other football leagues have tried to form in the U.S., but most have folded due to budget concerns and a lack of fan engagement.
The UFL is slated to start back up in 2024, and judging by some of the names that have joined rosters, the tide could slowly be changing for the league.
As Dov Kleiman has recently highlighted, the Birmingham Stallions have reached an agreement to sign Matt Corral as their quarterback.

Corral was a highly-touted player out of Ole Miss and was selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers.
Despite the excitement surrounding him at Ole Miss, Corral wasn’t able to make a name for himself in the NFL.
He didn’t have a great opportunity to be the starter in Carolina after he was placed on injured reserve during his rookie year.
What could have been remains to be seen, but with the opportunity to join a UFL roster, Corral could work hard to prove himself to an NFL team.
He had a Lisfranc injury in 2022, and while players can return from those injuries, they can sometimes have lasting effects that can be a factor on people for the rest of their lives.
