The Cincinnati Bengals have struggled to put up points on the scoreboard this season.
Aside from Week 2’s game vs. the Baltimore Ravens, Joe Burrow’s offense has failed to reach the 20-point mark, being held to just three points twice in four games.
Needless to say, a lot of that has had to do with his nagging calf injury, as he’s been quite limited out there and hasn’t been able to move as freely as he usually does, not to mention the fact that his offensive line has failed to protect him.
With that in mind, multiple people — including his friend and teammate Ja’Marr Chase — have urged him to sit and get back to full strength, but that’s not the case with Kurt Warner.
In an appearance on “The Rich Eisen Show,” the former NFL quarterback actually stated that if Burrow feels like he’s good enough to play, then he should play through it (via Lindsay Patterson).

That’s not what most people believe about calf injuries, especially considering how they seem to be correlated with ACL injuries.
The Bengals are 1-3, and not many teams are able to come back from that kind of record to make the playoffs.
Another loss would make it even more difficult to right the ship and reach the promised land at the end of the season.
That’s why a loss to the Arizona Cardinals could pretty much end their season sooner than expected, and they would have no choice but to reconsider sitting their franchise quarterback to get him back to full strength.
