Throughout the majority of the 2023 NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys were one of the best all-around teams in the league, with quarterback Dak Prescott looking like a legitimate candidate to win NFL MVP.
Unfortunately, Prescott was knocked out of contention for the MVP after a poor performance against the Buffalo Bills late in the season, and that was about when the 2023 campaign spiraled out of control for Dallas, as they were never able to recover their dominant form.
The Cowboys headed into the NFL playoffs as the second seed in the NFC, and many believed this team could go the distance and have a legitimate shot to win it all.
However, Dallas didn’t expect the upstart Green Bay Packers to pose much of a challenge in the first round of the playoffs, but that’s precisely what happened, with Jordan Love and company wiping the floor with America’s Team on their home field in Arlington, Texas.
Despite failing to live up to expectations again in the postseason, Prescott still appears to be in line for a massive contract extension from the Cowboys, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report.
“I believe Dak Prescott is going to reset the quarterback market and get in the vicinity of 60 million dollars this season,” Schultz said.
Aside from his MVP caliber play this past year, #Cowboys QB Dak Prescott has put himself in tremendous position. Keep in mind he can’t be tagged next offseason.

As Schultz pointed out, longtime team owner Jerry Jones does not want to start over at the quarterback position and is willing to continue to gamble on Prescott being the right man for the job under center for Dallas moving forward.
That could turn out to be a costly mistake for Jones, especially with Micah Parsons and CeeDee Lamb, who are also set for big paydays in the near future.
