The Colorado Buffaloes were the talk of the college football season in 2023 as they shocked the country with some improbable wins to begin their season.
Colorado’s football program had languished for years until former NFL superstar and Jackson State head coach Deion Sanders made the jump to the PAC-12.
Sanders’ name is well-known and highly respected in the football world for what he did during his career and he brought the same fire and charisma to the Buffaloes in his first year.
However, Sanders’ squad limped toward the finish line, losing their final six games and finishing with a 4-8 conference record.
Despite the poor result, things continue to trend upward for Sanders and company as he’s focused on rebuilding the program.
Meanwhile, Sanders’ coaching staff will be raking in some serious cash as they are set to break the school record for total combined salary via Margaret Fleming of Front Office Sports.
“Colorado’s 10 full-time assistants under Deion Sanders will earn a combined $4.65 million during the 2024 season—the most in school history,” Fleming reported.

The coaching staff made a combined $4.59 million in base salary in 2023, but will be slightly above that figure in 2024.
Defensive coordinator Robert Livingston and offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur are both set to make $800,000 in 2024 before they’re due raises in 2025.
Having quality assistants on the sidelines is a positive sign for Sanders, but now he needs to go out and deliver wins for Colorado.
