After a solid 2022 campaign, the new-look Miami Dolphins were able to take it to another level during the 2023 NFL regular season, with head coach Mike McDaniel seemingly figuring out a winning formula for this team, leading to an impressive 11-6 record.
One of the main reasons for the Dolphins’ success during the 2023 campaign was the offense firing on all cylinders, with both quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and wide receiver Tyreek Hill being NFL MVP candidates and running back Raheem Mostert having a breakout season with 18 touchdowns.
With these three offensive stars stealing the spotlight in Miami, wide receiver Jaylen Waddle took a backseat, as he had the worst season of his NFL career thus far.
Even though it was statistically his worst season, it wasn’t by that much at all, and he still produced on the field by cracking the 1,000-yard receiving mark while hauling in four touchdowns.
However, that doesn’t seem like it was enough to satisfy eager Dolphins fans, as they’ve been calling for him to be traded, which sparked quite a reaction out of Hill, who took to Twitter to respond.
“My boy waddle is the future, he is better than I was at this point in his career and for people in this fan base to want to trade him is ludicrous,” Hill said.

One of the main reasons the offense in Miami clicks is because of the multiple weapons on the field, and not everyone is going to get the ball to put up monster numbers on a weekly basis.
Although fans want to explore trading Waddle, it could have a significant impact on the team’s offensive efficiency, which is probably not a move that McDaniel and company want to do with the team being so close to contention in the AFC.
